While people are dying every day from the deadly coronavirus disease, the Chinese government is trying its best to prevent it from spreading, launching a contact detection application that will help reduce the spread of coronaviruses.
The smartphone app, called the "close contact detector", aims to inform people if they are at risk of getting infected based on the proximity of someone who has it.
Close contact detector app lets users check their status by scanning a QR code using an app such as Alipay, WeChat or QQ. They will then be directed to enter their name and government ID number, and can check the status of three other ID numbers.
