The federal government of Nigeria has announced a new date for the start of the senior secondary school exam (SSS) 3, this was revealed by the Minister of State for Education Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba on Wednesday in Abuja. He also announced new planned dates for Junior secondary School (JSS) 3.

WAEC, NECO 2020 Postponed Indefinitely – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has postponed this year Senior School Leaving certificate Examination (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) indefinitely. This was announced by the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Emeka Nwajubu.

He said this at a news conference in Abuja, saying it was the result of a coronavirus epidemic. He said the government would announce a new revision date after the blockade ends. He also advised students to study online, the government planned.

ASUP Suspends Nationwide Strike After 2 Months

After two months of industrial action, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has called off the nationwide strike.

Mr. Usman Dutse, ASUP, National President said this at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to him, “we have decided to suspend our two month old strike; this decision was taken at the end of our National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

“We shall not hesitate to resume the suspended strike should government fail to review the Memorandum of Action (MoA) and ensure full implementation before end of May 2019.

Another meeting between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) ended on Monday night without an immediate resolution of the ongoing strike.

The meeting which held at the Federal Ministry of Labour headquarters was to find a lasting solution to the ongoing strike by the university lecturers.

At least six other meetings have been held between both parties before Monday’s since the strike commenced on November 4.

Asuu strike continues until FG implements offers — Union

The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Thursday said the ongoing strike would not be called off until the Federal Government fully implemented all the offers it made to the union after their last meeting.

The public university lecturers said they were tired of Federal Government’s antics of making unfulfilled promises, insisting that the strike would be called off after they got tangible evidence and concrete actions that the offers made to them by the Federal Government had been implemented.

Official JAMB Registration Date For 2019 UTME Form Announced

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that the sales of JAMB registration form for 2019 UTME will commence on January 10th, 2019. The announcement was made by JAMB's Registrar Professor Oloyede during a meeting with owners of JAMB Computer Based Test Centres at the University of Lagos.

According to professor Oloyede, the sales of form will start January 10th and last for 6 weeks. Followed by the examination in March. He further disclosed that the board will not allow Cyber Cafe operators to register candidates because they are extorting candidates and overcharging them and also engaging in services that they do not have the capacity to do.
