According to todays.ng, Finland-based Biafra activist, Simon Ekpa, has been sacked for about fourteen days after he reported that he is assuming control over the situation of kept head of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu as a broadcaster on Radio Biafra.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reported the sack of Ekpa in articulation by its representative Emma Powerful on Wednesday.

As indicated by IPOB Ekpa was sacked in light of his refusal to sign the principles of commitment and set of accepted rules directing those telecoms on Radio Biafra.

Court asks Senator Abaribe to produce Nnamdi Kanu or risk jail sentence

The Federal high court, Abuja, has asked Senator Enyinaya Abaribe and two others to produce leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu in court for the next hearing of his treason case on June 26th 2018 or face jail term.

Recall that Abaribe, Immanuel El-Shalom, a Jewish high priest, and Tochukwu Uchendu, a chartered accountant, stood surety for Kanu when he was granted bail on April 27th last year after spending over a year in detention.

IPOB Says Leader, Nnamdi Kanu And His Wife Are Not In Ghana.

Spokesperson of outlawed secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Emmanuel Powerful, has refuted recent media reports claiming their leader, Nnamdi Kanu and his wife, Uchechi, were spotted hiding in Ghana.

Reports made the rounds recently that Kanu is now residing in Ghana – Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen in public since the military raided his house in Abia state in September last year.

Ikpeazu said the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, whose whereabouts is currently unknown, is a man who speaks from both sides of his mouth as he never consulted him before taking any action. Ikpeazu went on to say that the Igbos are not after the break up of Nigeria and are ready to rule the country when the time comes.

Nnamdi Kanu’s wife, has said her husband’s disappearance should be the major issue that will dictate discourse as the nation goes to the poll next year.

Uchechi Kanu, speaking in an interview published by BBC on Monday, said the Nigerian government should account for her husband’s whereabouts, else, people will not vote.

IPOB was legally declared a terror organisation - Court rules

An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has refused an application by members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra seeking the nullification of the proscription order made against the group on September 20.

Members of IPOB had approached the court after it made an order proscribing the group as a terror organisation last September.

IPOB had through its lawyers, led by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, alleged a violation of its fundamental rights to fair hearing and freedom of assembly by the federal government in its (governments) motion brought ex parte.

Nnamdi Kanu “now jumped bail” – FG

The federal government has called on the ECOWAS Council to reject the basic human rights lawsuit by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to Punch

The federal government has called for the case to be rejected because Cuba has now jumped on the bail, for which the trial is "without purpose".

In March 2016, Kanu filed a case of unlawful arrest against the federal government, seeking compensation of $ 800 million.

Federal Administrative lawyer Maimuna Shiru said it was not necessary for the court to determine Kanu's action because it was released in April 2017. She said,

IPOB handbill printer Arrested by Police at Onitsha

The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday arrested two publishers in Onitsha who were allegedly printing handbills for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra in respect of November 18 election boycott in Anambra State.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Garba Umar, disclosed this at a press conference in his office at Amawbia, Anambra State.

Umar said his command would not tolerate any IPOB activity in the state in any guise.

47 years after, victims of Nigeria/Biafra civil war will be receiving N88 billion from the Nigerian Government, which is also set out for completion of demining and destruction of abandoned explosives within the South-East, South-South and North Central regions of the country.

The Nigerian government said N38billion will be paid to contractors for total and complete demining and destruction of abandoned bombs and landmines within the regions, while it would pay N50billion compensation to “true victims” of the civil war that occurred between 1967 and 1970.

Police shoot Biafra man to death in Anambra - See what Biafrans Did

A yet to be identified man was shot dead by some police officers at Tarzan junction, Nkpor along the popular Enugu-Onitsha expressway on Friday October 20th. A statement released by the command, says a Police patrol team on stop and search duties stopped the driver of a suspected Camry Vehicle for routine check. However, the driver failed to stop as directed.

He was chased by the police team from Dennis memorial Grammar School (DMGS) roundabout, Onitsha and subsequently accosted at Tarzan Junction, Nkpor as a result of traffic build-up. In a bid to search the vehicle properly, a melee ensued and the driver was shot by Police. Unfortunately, the driver died on the spot. A thorough search of the vehicle revealed fifteen (15) bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

The General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and miracle ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has opined that Biafra is a spirit and cannot be killed with guns, arrows, and not even with a nuclear bomb.

The pastor made this known while felicitating with Nigeria on her Independence Day celebration.

Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, IPOB attack Orji Uzor Kalu for saying Kanu fled Nigeria

Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has been attacked by Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer and IPOB members for his revelation concerning Nnamdi Kanu’s whereabouts.

You recall, Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen or heard from since last month’s fracas between his supporters and troops near his Afaraukwu home in Umuahia.

His lawyers have urged the High Court in Abuja to compel the military to produce him, “having taken him away when they invaded his house”. But the military has since denied taking Kanu away.

Group threatens to occupy U.K embassy if Nnamdi Kanu is not extradited

The Advocate of Social Justice for All has threatened to occupy the embassy of United Kingdom if the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is not extradited to Nigeria.

The group in a statement by its Executive Director, Asongo Venatius , said it was disappointed to learn that the Kanu is hiding in the United Kingdom after illegally travelling through Cameroon and Malaysia.

According to Venatius, this implies that the UK is harbouring a fugitive from Justice and this is irrespective of him holding dual nationalism – Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Nnamdi Kanu abandons violent struggle for Biafra, Seeks dialogue with Buhari

At last, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has abandoned his violent struggle for the realisation of Biafra and called for a dialogue with the Federal Government to end the agitation.

Kanu, said to have escaped to London by former Abia governor Orji Uzor Kalu was arrested and later granted bail for allegations of treasonable felony, maintaining unlawful society, illegal possession of items and many others.

The statement that initially announced the declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation came from the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Then the question should be directed to Abuja, not to me. In the army, when you have your boss, if he talks, you can’t contradict him. You can’t say he is right or he is wrong. You can’t assess him. So people should understand these things. My answer to this question is: I am not the one who said it, and therefore I am not the right person to answer the question. The question should be directed to the person that made the statement. If it came from the military in Abuja, like you said, then the question should go to the military in Abuja.

Biafrans to wear black today and as well remove biafran flags from cars

It has emerged that leaders and members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra in the South-East have been holding secret meetings to avoid arrest by the military and other security agencies in the region.

The leaders also asked their members to wear black on Sunday (today) to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day.

SUNDAY PUNCH reports that they spoke to a leader of an IPOB group in Owerri. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the man said he held regular meetings with his members in secret since IPOB was proscribed and the whereabouts of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu became unknown.

UK demands Nnamdi Kanu from FG, reacts to IPOB proscription

The United Kingdom has asked the ​Nigerian ​government to ​comment on the whereabouts of ​ Nnamdi Kanu ​,​ leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, ​IPOB.

The Press Officer, UK high commission in Nigeria, Joe Abuku, ​disclosed that Britain already made ​an official ​ inquiry ​about Kanu.

“We are seeking urgent clarification from the Nigerian authorities about the status and whereabouts of Mr. Kanu, a British-Nigerian man, who has been reported missing since September 14,” Abuku ​told Punch.

Courts remands 60 IPOB Members as FG Gazettes its Proscription

The Federal Government has in its Gazette published the proscription of the secessionist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and declared it a terrorist organization.

Publishing in its Gazette is a part of the procedure required of the Federal Government before the group can be legally proscribed, Punch reports.

Abdu Kafarati, Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court had on September 20 asked the FG to publish the proscription notice in its gazette, as well as in 2 national newspapers.
