Picture in Picture - Just a few days ago we saw the implementation of the Swipe to Reply feature and the other feature now available. In August we sometimes suggest that WhatsApp is working on this feature and that it is ready and in the process of deployment.
The new feature called Picture in Picture Mode (PiP) lets you directly watch YouTube, Facebook and Instagram videos in WhatsApp.
So, if someone shares you YouTube video, Facebook, and Instagram videos with you on WhatsApp, the link will no longer take you outside WhatsApp, but there is a play button right in the app; Touching stretches the video on top of the chat and starts playing.
The whole WhatsApp conversation remains active below, so you can always type, read, and move normally.
The new feature is available for WhatsApp beta v2.18.301. You can join the beta program here or manually download the entire file from the apk mirror.
The picture view mode currently works on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube videos ... Twitter is not yet enabled. Let us know when yours is active.
