It seems that DStv premium subscribers gradually emerged from the platform. MultiChoice South Africa revealed in June that more subscribers to DStv Premium were lost last year due to increased competition from Netflix.
According to the report by Mybroadband, DStv Premium subscribers in the pay TV market in Africa have been down for three years.
Naspers' annual results for the year ended March 31, 2018 showed that DStv has lost 41,000 subscribers.
In 2016/2017 135,000 subscribers DStv Premium have lost.
Between April 2015 and March 2016, they lost 255,000 premium subscribers.
However, its comprehensive subscriber base is still growing, but this growth comes mainly from low cost subscribers.
The chart above shows the number of subscribers to DStv Premium for all multichoice groups since 2012 and 2015, the premium subscriber base has begun to decline.
As of October 31, 2018, channels 127 and 128 (Sony Entertainment TV and Sony's Maximum) will be deleted and subscribers will not be satisfied.
