Google's short URL service will be closed from April 2018. The ad was created on Google's post on the blog. This is a sad news because goo.gl is one of the most popular and commonly used URL shortcuts on the Internet.
Google will close the goo.gl URL shortcut since April 2018, but on April 13, users who either use anonymous or anonymous goo.gl will no longer be able to create short links. While users who shorten links to a Google Account will continue working it for up to a year from today, March 30, 2019.
For those who already have shortened links, the links will continue to work. Developer projects that did not use goo.gl will not be able to create short links to the service on May 30, 2018 - those who can continue to use goo.gl until March 30, 2019.
Google claims that goo.gl support disappears in favor of Firebase Dynamic Links, unique links that can lead to different destinations depending on the type of device they access. But dynamic links to Firebase do not replace short links to goo.gl; they are not something that developers do not need to use.
Google recommends alternative URL shortening services like Bitly.com and Ow.ly as more direct alternatives to goo.gl.
