According to Punch, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar resigned at the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He left the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for APC to take part in presidential debates in 2015, where he lost to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Atik news, who left APC, circulated for some time on the Internet after meeting with former President Goodluck Jonatom during the 2019 presidency.
Jonathan would have advised him to return the PDP early enough to comply with certain constitution provisions of the party if he was planning to fight under his umbrella.
He was also informed that PDP will have a greater chance because the APC has nothing to offer.
The Daily Trust reports that Atiku should receive its PDP membership on Saturday in its home state Adamawa.
The source who talked with Daily trust said that thousands of fans were mobilized for the event, which will host 21 local governments in Adamawa. He said:
Twenty buses have been allocated to each local government area for the event; the buses will convey supporters to Yola.
Lawan Uba, the Director of Mobilization of Atiku Support Group, also confirmed the news to Daily Trust. He said:
We’ve cleared the terrain and Atiku will come to the PDP tomorrow; this is certain unless there is last minute change because already many people from Abuja and other places are in Yola ahead of the formal event even though the elaborate ceremony will come up later.
