Orange, France’s largest telecommunications company, has teamed up with Google to launch a cheap $ 30 4G smartphone in Africa in October, called the Sanza Touch.
Orange estimates that more than 520 million people in Africa do not have internet access covered by a mobile broadband network, simply because smartphones and mobile services are too expensive to buy.
This is not the first attempt at low-budget smartphones made locally in Africa. However, Sanza seems to be one of the cheapest. That should have been provided to us by BeepTool, but the forces of nature beyond their powers destroyed their plans.
