Sony recently unveiled the new PlayStation 5 (PS5) at an online event. According to the Japanese technology giant, it will be available in two models. One is a standard model and the other is a digital edition. Although the two devices are very similar, the standard PlayStation 5 model includes a Blu-ray Ultra HD disc drive, while the Digital Edition version comes without a disc drive. Other similarities include a USB-A port and a USB-C port with an on / off button.

Specification details show an 8-core PS5 processor based on AMD Zen 2, a 36-unit RDNA 2-based GPU with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, complemented by a custom 825 GB NVMe SSD. The game also includes a Tempest Audio engine that the company says can process hundreds of high-quality audio sources for excellent sound presence and localization.

For the design, the PS5 is vertical, with a dose of white and black. It also has blue LED lighting on the front, as well as a USB-A port and a USB-C port.

Along with the game console, is the DualSense Wireless Controller, and a charging station that can charge two controllers at a time. Other accessories that come with the PS5 include PULSE 3D Wireless Headset offering 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones, HD Camera featuring dual 1080p lenses for gamers to broadcast themselves along with their gameplay moments and a media remote with built-in microphone to navigate movies and streaming services.

The price of the PS5 has not been made official, but it the game itself should be around in December 2020, during the holidays.
