While Nigeria complains that the monthly data lasted only a few days, the National Consumer Commission (NCC) for South Africa said that SA packages of data should have a minimum period of three years.
Sometimes last year the industry regulator in Nigeria did something similar but less fruitful, requiring all telecommunications operators in the country; MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9Mobile to provide an additional period of 14 days delay to subscribers after the expiration of the data. However, no brand at the time of writing followed this guideline because no one expects that 1.5 GB data will spend 44 days.
For NCC South Africa to extend the validity of data for 3 years, its data plans must be excellent. Meanwhile, other people consider the data set to be extended to 90 days. My little research shows that MTN SA 1GB data costs 69 Rands, but it's about the N2000 in Nigeria. However, do not forget the situation with the Naira.
Attendees at the hearing did not agree with this, ready to retire the case to court. The NCC also accepted the proposal to seek a Supreme Court decision on this legislation before it was implemented in the regulations.
