Apple CEO Tim Cook shared that the upcoming update iOS 11 will allow users to disable the battery performance limit on their device. This move comes after Apple admitted last month to deliberately slow down the iPhone as they get older to avoid problems that may occur when the batteries fall.
In an interview with ABC News, Cook said the upgrade will arrive next month in the developer version before launching publicly. "We will give people the visibility of their batteries, is very, very transparent," he says. "It's not done yet."
Cook also says the upgrade will make users more aware when the iPhone automatically reduces performance to prevent unexpected stopping. "If you do not want it, you can turn it off," Cook says, though he says he does not recommend it - something that Apple remains in his apology to consumers after the reaction. December. Apple is currently subject to several classic practices after recognizing deliberately inactive iPhones.
The next beta iOS 11 is expected in early February, which means that the public release will be tracked in March.
