Blogger is a blogging service that allows multiple-user blogs with timestamped listings. Developed by Pyra Labs, which was acquired by Google in 2003. Basically, Google hosts blogs in the blogspot.com subdomain.

In this article I will show you "How to migrate from HTTP to HTTPS on Blogger Blog with Custom Domain".

What is HTTPS and What is used of HTTPS?

HTTPS stands for "HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure". HTTPS is expanded form of HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol). HTTPS is a protocol which is used to send data securely and safe through internet that means it provides security when we transfer the data through internet.

Now a question will be arising in your mind that is it needed for blog? No, it is not needed for blog because we don't transfer any secure data like money, transaction etc. But it is better for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If you enable HTTPS in your blog then your blog data will be secure and SEO will be better.

You have seen in blogspot blog that Google blogger provides HTTPS. HTTPS is more helpful for ranking your site in Google or other search engine and increase your readers.

What is SSL Certificate?

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. SSL is used to enable HTTPS in our blog or website and transfer data securely and safe on the internet. There are many web hosting companies which provides SSL certificates but today I am going to tell you the current development about blogger SSL certificate.

Some Disadvantages when you Enable HTTPS on your blog

1) When you migrating your blog from HTTP to HTTPS. Your traffic will be low for few days until Google crawl or index your all URLs with HTTPS.

2) Once you enable HTTPS in your blog then you are not to remove it because if you remove HTTPS from your blog then your blog may be unindexed from search engines. Now lets see how to enable https on blogger blog with custom domain. 

How to enable HTTPS on custom domain in blogger blog?

Blogger Blogs is not a bad idea, but it requires a lot of rules and you have to respect it, but today we are talking about Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), which adjusts Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) for secure communication to a computer network and is widely used on the Internet. In HTTPS, the communication protocol encrypts Transport Layer Security (TLS) or its predecessor Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

This process does not require a ssl certificate, it's completely free and is enabled for a custom domain name directly from blogger.com, meaning you do not have to use a cloudflare.

Step 1

Sign in to Blogger Using draft.blogger.com

Step 2

At the top left, click the Down arrow .

Step 3

Select the blog to update or want to make it https. as shown above

Step 4

In the left menu, click Settings >>Basic.

Step 5

On Basic. At the right, select Yes under "HTTPS" > on HTTPS Availability

After the above step on step 5, your page will reload. once it reload, Select Yes on HTTPS redirect as shown above. But if HTTPS redirect is not enabled for selection, just refresh the page to enable it as shown above.

Note

Change HTTPS availability to YES

change HTTPS redirect to YES

Step 6

Now after this process an automatic refresh page will occur just wait for less than 2min and that's all you need.
