Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, has been recognized for his contribution to increasing local food production and reducing food imports to Nigeria.

Dangote was one of Bloomberg's 50 most influential people honored for his contribution to humanity at the annual Bloomberg gala dinner in New York.
According to Bloomberg, he was honored for "an extraordinary commitment of more than $ 4 billion to increase food production capacity in Nigeria".
He also commended the focus on domestic production of sugar and dairy products with 500 million liters of local milk to be produced by 2019.
Earlier this year. Dangote has announced an investment of $ 50 billion in renewable energy sources.
