YouTube on Wednesday released its annual Rewind list, which this year attracted the attention of Nigeria users and YouTube all over the world.
Top 10 Videos (No Music Videos) Watched for Nigeria this year are outlines Mark Angel in 3rd and 8th places, as well as political problems with the return of President Muhammadu Buhari's medical trip to the UK. Uni and Biafra are on 2nd and 4th place.
A look at the most viewed snippets in Nigeria shows how the Nigerians adopted the original music, but not without some strange favorites. Songs such as 'If' and 'Fall' by Davido and 'Wild Thoughts' by DJ Khaleda with Rihanna and 'I'm the One' are in the first place. Nigerians favorites ‘Come Closer’ by Wizkid featuring Drake, ‘Wo’ by Olamide, ‘Nobody Ugly’ by P-Square all made the list.
At a global level, the most watched video with 181,958,411 views was the Thai love song As Long As We Will Become The Dust’ by Oyster Masked. The melody and the wonderful sense of the song make it one of the performances that has attracted world attention in 2017.
In the category of the most watched videos in the world, Nigerians joined the rest of the world in their love of Latin music as "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee in the lead, followed by Ed Sheeran, who dominate the music and no category of music videos.
