Half-Leigh Nel-Peters, who represented South Africa, Miss Universe was crowned in 2017.
Miss Colombia, Laura Gonzalez, while Miss Jamaica, Davina Bennett, was the second.
Nel-Peters, 22, recently graduated from North West University with a Business Administration degree.
It has helped develop a women's self-defense training program in various situations after being robbed under the threat of a rifle a month after Miss South Africa.
92 women from all over the world have participated in this decade of old competition. This year's edition had the largest number of participants, including the first representatives of its history from Cambodia, Laos and Nepal.
For the last five contestants, contestants presented the questions that were posed during the competition.
When asked to list the most important problem facing women in the workplace, Nel-Peters said the shortage of payments is the same.
"In some places, women get 75 percent of what people earn for the same job, doing the same hours, and I do not think it's fair, I think we should have the same work for women everywhere in the world"
Soon after the start of the show on Sunday night, 16 semi-finalists; 4 from each continent; Africa and Asia, America and Europe, then 4 alternate marks for a total of 16.
