Alex Ekwueme died - October 21, 1932 - November 19, 2017

Alex Ekwueme, former vice president of Nigeria under the rule of Shehu Shagari, died in London.

According to a statement by his family and signed by his brother, the traditional Leader of Anambra, Igwe Laz Ekwueme, the former vice president died at 22:00 on Sunday, 19 November 2017

Ekwueme flew abroad on Saturday, November 12, at the Air Ambulance after being hospitalized at the Neurosurgery Hospital in Memphis, Enugu, for what the family attributed to lung infection.
