The Nigeria Immigration service (NIS) on Monday announced recruitment for 2017 job but cautioned prospective applicants seeking employment into the service not to pay any money to any person or group of persons.
NIS Comptroller-General, Mr Muhammad Babandede, gave the warning in a statement signed by the service Spokesperson, Mr Sunday James, on Monday in Abuja.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service, NIS and Nigeria Prisons Service boards announced approval for recruitment.
So in my own part to help, I will be outlining the guidelines, requirement and how to apply for these job vacancies. Follow the procedures below.
HOW TO APPLY FOR NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE (NIS) 2017 RECRUITMENT
As stated earlier, the online application is completely free of charge so interested job seekers should visit the official website of NIS www.nisrecruitment.org.ng.
- Once you have opened the NIS website
- Click on "General information" to read more about the requirements
- Then click on view available positions to see the list of positions for 2017 Nigeria Immigration service recruitment.
- Navigate down and click on "apply here" for your position of choice
- If you don’t already have an account, you will need to open to proceed, you will need to Provide information required for the registration, As shown below
Nigeria Immigration Service 2017 General Requirements
- Applicant must be Nigerian by birth.
- Applicants must be medically fit and present certificate of medical fitness from a government hospital.
- Applicant must be of good character and must not have been convicted of a criminal offence and must not be a member of a secret society/cult.
- Applicant must be free from financial embarrassment.
- Applicant must be between the ages of 18-30 years.
- Applicant’s height must not be less than 1.65m for males and 1.60m for females.
Applicant’s chest measurement of not less than 0.87m for men.
Please Note: Any Candidate who failed to submit his/her Certificate or Qualification at the recruitment centre, Such applicant will not be allowed to do so afterwards..
All applicant must also submit a well completed and duly signed guarantor’s section of the application form, and must be presented for screening, Likewise take note, that the form is to be signed by officers not below the rank of Chief superintendent of Immigration (CSI) or its equivalents
(A) SUPERINTENDENT CADRE
Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI”)
- Applicant must possess a minimum of first degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- NYSC discharged certificate
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 years.
(B) INSPECTORATE CADRE
Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) & Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII)
1. Applicants for Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) must possess a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.
2. Applicants for Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) must be between the ages of 18-30 years.
3. NYSC certificate is compulsory for senior Inspector of Immigration (SII)
4. Applicants for Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) must possess a minimum of NCE/OND from a recognized institution.
5. Applicants for Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) must be between the ages of 18-26 years.
(c) ASSISTANT CADRE
Immigration Assistant III (IA”’)
- Applicant must be a holder of SSCE,NECO, GCE O/Level with minimum of four(4) credit in not more than 2 sittings, which should include English and Maths.
- Applicants must also be between the ages of 18-25 years.
(D) SUPERINTENDENT CADRE
Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI ”)
- Applicant must possess a minimum of first degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- NYSC discharged certificate, likewise
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18-30 years.
(E) INSPECTORATE CADRE
Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) & Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII)
- Applicants for Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) must possess a minimum of Higher National
- Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution.
- Applicants for Senior Inspector of Immigration (SII) must be between the ages of 18-30 years.
- NYSC certificate is compulsory for senior Inspector of Immigration (SII)
- Applicants for Assistant Inspector of Immigration (AII) must possess a minimum of NCE/OND from a recognized institution.
