Nigeria and South Korea bilateral trade volume hits $9.9b

The bilateral trade volume between Nigeria and South Korea has hit $9.9 billion (N3.02 trillion). The Nigeria Charge De ‘Affairs to the country, Lazarus Basaba, disclosed this yesterday in Busan, South Korea, at Nigeria’s organised investment forum at the on-going International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecoms World 2017 conference and exhibition.

Meet Peter Ichapi: The man who sells food to residents in Makurdi with a bike
A quote from Napoleon Hill says, “If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way”. Peter is that young man who has achieved success by doing what others may call small, in a great way. 
Peter Ichapi is a 24 year old young entrepreneur who has been distinguished by his work. A mobile food vendor as some of his friends call him, he goes about the city of makurdi selling food to bankers, tailors, police officers, workers, residents with the aid of his bike also known as okada.


He started his food business in July 2016 under a tree opposite the church he attends. After a while, he was told to vacate the location. Nevertheless, Peter did not give up but was bent on achieving success.

Dangote begs public to help monitor truck drivers …sets up hotline for reports

The Management of Dangote Industries Limited (Dangote Group) has issued a passionate appeal to members of the public to assist in monitoring and reporting both recklessness and illegal haulage of contrabands goods by some of its truck drivers. The company has also set up hotlines for the public to report such truck drivers, with a promise to appropriately compensate calls that lead to arrest of errant drivers.

Noting that trucks belonging to Dangote Cement are only allowed to carry Cement, High Grade Gypsum and Coal; those belonging to Dangote Sugar (NASCON) are authorize to carry only Salt and Dan Q seasoning and trucks belonging to Agrosacks, the bags producing arm of Dangote group, can only carry bags, belonging to Dangote flour Mills, Wheat, Flour and Danvita.

The Quramo Writers’ Prize is a one-of- a-kind writing competition and award organized by Quramo Publishing Limited an independent publishing company committed to producing the highest quality content for various audiences. The company’s portfolio includes Q Books, QLife, Mango Books, The Quramo Report and CLRN Direct.

Everyone has a story inside him or her, unique to them, only possibly told by them. The Quramo Writers Prize would encourage the inclination, the habit, the discipline, and the art of telling these stories. They are important because of our collective identity, the sense of history they convey, because our stories are who we are.

With an estimated 65,000,000 citizens scattered among over 250 ethnic groups, there are many stories out there just waiting to be told.
The Prize calls for writers to submit unpublished work of fiction and nonfiction, and is open in two categories: a general prize and an under 16 prize. The general category has a minimum word count of 5,000 words, while the under 16 prize has an upper limit of 3,000 words.
There will be one winner in each category. Each winner will receive a cash prize, a publishing contract, and more.
Participants can submit their work on the Quramo Publishing website by filling out the application form and uploading their submissions.
Alternatively, manuscripts are accepted via post/email to the addresses provided. The under-16 category submissions should indicate their age on the application form.

This call for submissions is officially open. The formal ceremony announcing the final winners will hold in September.

Exportation of Yam to U.S. & UK from Nigeria will start at End of June – Minister

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, on Tuesday received Nigeria’s Lola Omolola, founder of a secret Facebook group called Female in Nigeria.


FIN was founded in 2015 by Omolola, a movement of women focused on building compassion and providing support for one another, with the goal of having up to 1000 members in the group.
