President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, created a problem for him in the South-East zone of the country.

During his presidential campaign in Enugu, Buhari disclosed that Amaechi promised the people of South-East that his administration will construct a railway linking their region to the Northern part of the country.

According to Buhari, fulfilling the promise made by Amaechi would be difficult because the minister didn’t submit any proposal of such to the Federal Executive Council. He, however, assured that people that he would convince the Federal Executive Council members for the project to be approved.

This is coming hours after Oby Ezekwesili, withdrew from the race.

Senate asks CBN to suspend card maintenance fee and banks to allow up to N40,000 per withdrawal from their ATMs.

The Nigerian Senate has passed a resolution calling on the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend the ATM card maintenance charges being deducted from customers’ accounts per month. They also called on commercial banks to configure their machines to dispense up to N40,000 per withdrawal.

Senate asks CBN to suspend card maintenance fee and banks to allow up to N40,000 per withdrawal from their ATMs.

The Senate revealed the motion via a tweet @SPNigeria. This resolution came as part of a motion on the illicit and excessive bank charges on customers accounts, sponsored by Senator Olugbenga Ashafa, representing Lagos East.

Vice president Osinbajo mocks Senator Adeleke and Dino Melaye

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo made a mockery of PDP’s governorship candidate in the recently concluded Osun state gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and fellow party member, Senator Dino Malaye, during his speech at the Independence Gala night held at the Banquet hall of the Presidential Villa.

Osibanjo said he agreed with the poll reportedly conducted by the British Independent newspapers which declared Nigerians as the happiest and most optimistic people in the world.

He went on to mock Senator Adeleke stating that he provided humour with his dance moves while Senator Melaye made Nigerians laugh by claiming he had escaped assassination by hiding on a tree top for 11 hours.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship primaries in Gombe state which held inside the government house, took a different turn this afternoon after a serving senator, Bayero Nafada, allegedly slapped a commissioner in the state during a heated argument.

The venue for the primaries was turned upside down during the chaos.

A Twitter user, @UMH_manga, who witnessed the chaos at the venue, shared a video writing,

Oyetola polled a total of 255,505 votes after the collation of the results of the supplementary election in seven polling units across four local governments, while PDP’s Ademola Adeleke polled a total of 255,023 votes to come second.

But at the initial election which held last Saturday, Davido’s uncle scored the highest number of votes, beating Oyetola with 353 votes but INEC declared the election inconclusive and ordered a rerun because the number of cancelled votes in the seven polling units was far higher than the margin by which Adeleke beat Oyetola.

APC National leader, Bola Tinubu, has released a statement officially endorsing Jide Sanwo-Olu and rejecting the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

In the statement released this evening, Tinubu said the blueprint of Lagos State which is his brainchild between 1999-2007, was followed through by his successor, Tunde Fashola but has now being deviated from by the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The statement comes shortly after Ambode addressed a press conference in which he made some allegation against Sanwo-Olu.
