Banks will now limit accounts and BVNs related to fraudulent activities
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has ordered banks in the country to suspend bank accounts and bank verification numbers (BVNs) of their clients linked to false activities.
The order is contained in the table published by CBN to run banks in the BVN business.
The executive power was only reached one year after the CBN sent all bank customers in the country to acquire their BVN.

Deadline For Bank Accounts Without BVN Ends - Check Date
The deadline for customers of Microfinance Banks (MfBs) and Other Financial Institutions (OFIs) without Bank Verification Number (BVN) linked to their accounts has elapsed on January 1,2018.
If the directive by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) earlier in the year is anything to go by, such customers will be unable to make withdrawals from their accounts henceforth.
The BVN enrolment is a brainchild of the apex bank and the Bankers’ Committee, a body of banks’ managing directors and the CBN.

Abuse naira and go to jail, warns
The Nigerian central bank warned Nigerians on Friday of abusing naira notes.
The apex of the bank said that anyone caught abusing the naira would be prosecuted and, if convicted, was punishable by six months in prison with a N50,000 fine.
Mr. Samuel Shuaibu, the official Department of the CBN currency Operations in Abuja, found it in Calabar, the Cross River State, to launch a "Fair CBN" educating the resident population on the proper use of naira.
The theme of the exhibition was: Promoting Financial Stability and Economic Development.

Diamond Bank to Sell its West African Banking Operations to Focus on Nigeria
Diamond Bank Plc (“Diamond Bank”) – Nigeria’s fastest growing retail bank – is selling its West African banking operations in order to focus on Nigeria’s significant retail banking opportunity.

Bank of Ghana supports offshore banking services
The Bank of Ghana is in talks with two commercial banks which plan to set up offshore specialized banking services for the country’s free trade zone.
Official of the Board of the Free Trade Zone, Michael Okyere, confirmed the discussions.
The specialized type of banking will enable enterprises in the Free Trade Zone to function effectively, especially, in meeting export arrangements.

World Bank Reported that Child Marriage will Cost Trillions of Dollars by 2030.
Child marriage will cost developing countries trillions of dollars in the next decade, seriously hampering global efforts to eradicate poverty, the World Bank said on Tuesday.
An estimated one in three girls in the developing world is married before the age of 18, with one girl married off every two seconds, according to experts.
