Nokia 8.3 5G is Nokia's branded smartphone from HMD Global, running on Android One, this is HMD's first 5G phone, and was announced on March 19, 2020, along with Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 5310 (2020). The Nokia 8.3 5G would be the first smartphone compatible with all existing 5G bands.

The device is now available for purchase from Clove in the UK. However, Clove also offers international shipping via UPS and DHL, but import taxes vary.

Please note that this model is in the UK, but also comes with an EU or EU Convert wall adapter. In addition, although the phone easily supports all UK / EU 4G / LTE / 5G networks, it may not work for countries outside a certain area. The list of devices expires in September.

The variant featured on the site is a single SIM version, with 6GB RAM and 64GB expandable internal storage. Price tag runs about £460, or $545.31 for this configuration, but no mention of the higher 8GB/128GB model.

The Nokia 8.3 5G smartphones came with the upper mid-range Snapdragon 765G. It has a large 6.81-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display, with the impressive Pure Display technology. Of course, love it or hate it, the phone is part of Google’s Android One initiative.

But it’s the imaging that is quite interesting, and the one that I’m personally interested about. It has a 64MP main camera (which sensor is unknown for now) with an f/1.9 aperture lens, paired with a custom 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and two 2MP camera for macro and depth sensing. On the front, it has a 24MP camera punched unto the display. All the camera sensors are equipped with a ZEISS lens.

What’s interesting about the phone is not its main camera, but the accessory 12MP ultra-wide-angle. While the lens is a dimmer f/2.2, Nokia Mobile says it is a “specialized lowlight ultra-wide” with a large 2.8um super pixels, and native 16:9 aspect ratio sensor. It is also advertised for its video capability (with HDR) with an exclusive ZEISS video cinematic effects.
