After bringing functionality to users of Android and iOS in dark mode, WhatsApp now plans to introduce self-destructive messaging. This feature will allow you to set a destructive timer for any message. In other words, the message you sent will be deleted after a certain amount of time. It is not yet clear when the feature will be fully implemented, but it is still under development.
In two beta versions of the app you can find the ability to post self-destructive messages in private chats. The versions of the application are 2.20.83 and 2.20.84, and you can choose between the hour, day, week, month, or year.
Once you set the timer, a clock icon will appear next to the sent time, so you can keep track of when the message will disappear. The feature will be great for hiding sensitive conversation and information. We hope to update you, when the feature is finally rolled out on both Android and iOS.
