WhatsApp, the world's most popular App, has become the second non-Google application to capture 5 billion installations on the Google Play Store.
So far, very few apps have reached 5 billion downloads and most have been pre-installed by Google; Facebook reached 5 billion downloads last year, and now the chat messenger bought by Facebook, WhatsApp has reached 5 billion installed as a non-Google application.
With WhatsApp being the primary means of communication in different countries with 1.5billion monthly active users, in which a large percentage of installs are from Google play store.
