After announcing Vivo S1 Pro in May, the company presented Vivo S1 in Indonesia. The smart phone adds the company to the "S-series". It comes with a Full HD + Super AMOLED screen of 6.39 inches and a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels. The phone has a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 90%.

Vivo S1 weighs 179 grams and measures 159.53 × 75.23 × 8.13 mm. Available in Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue. The phone launches the Octa Core MediaTek Helio P65 processor (MT6768). While for graphics, it is the ARM Mali-G52 graphics processor unit. It has 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB storage capacity, and expandable memory up to 256 GB using micro-SD card.

The phone uses Android 9.0 (Pie) with Funtouch OS 9 and has a 4500mAh fast charging battery. The Vivo S1 smartphone comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor for added security. Supports dual SIM card, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual band, Bluetooth 5, GPS / GLONASS and micro USB connector for connection.

As for the cameras, the Vivo S1 sports a 16MP primary sensor with Sony IMX499 sensor and an f/1.78 aperture, plus an 8MP 120° ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front of the phone features a 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
