FRANKLYN AKWARI- The Ranger that stood against Rangers International F. C.

At six foot seven, this towering goalkeeper terrorised the then Nigerian Professional League champions, right from the first sound of the whistle to the very last as Rangers International F. C. crashed out of the 2017 Federations cup. Franklyn Akwari's breathtaking saves were all Rovers F. C needed to see the Champions off. 

Considered by many as Nigeria's Manuel Neuer, not just because of his quick reflexes but his style of goal keeping where he is not just a shot-stopper but an outfield player -a sweeper-keeper. His commanding presence to dominate his area and the way he organises his defence adds to his positioning and concentration, and have made him stand out amongst his contemporaries. 

The penalty shoot out against Rangers International also laid credence to his penalty saving skills and confidence in slotting home from the spot when the need arises. Of course not too many goalkeepers wield this in their armoury which justifies his position as one of the best in this area of the game. 

Franklyn is also pair-loader. His kicks on some of the occasions in the match were seen in the opposing team's penalty box which was also a huge threat to their defenders. His ability to locate his strikers from any angle of the pitch and put his team on a counterattack is overwhelming. 

Nigeria may have well seen the long time replacement of Vincent Enyeama in the current Akwa Starlet F. C goalkeeper.
